| This is Hootie, she is now 1 year old. She is 4.5 lbs and very sweet. This is a close up, so she appears larger than she is. Just like all small dogs, they have to have that "Close Up" to see the features. She has her "Yorkie summer cut" now. | Posted On Sun 03/30/08 |

| Striker is a HAVANESE! A small breed of dog with a solid, hardy build, the Havanese can be seen with a soft, profuse double-coat in shades of cream, gold, white, silver, blue, or black. A long tail, carried up and over the back, and set of dark eyes remain sheltered by the breeds’ lengthy, wavy hair. A happy and affectionate breed, the Havanese tends to get along well with people and other animals, alike. The breed has a kind and receptive nature, with a tendency to become overly attached to their owners. Havanese are highly intelligent and easily trained. The playful nature of the breed requires a moderate amount of exercise. Predecessors of this breed were transported from Europe to Cuba during the 17th century, and soon thereafter developed into the (now extinct) Blanquito de la Habana. Crossing the Blanquito de la Habana with the poodle during the 19th century resulted in the creation of today's Havanese. The Havanese remained unrecognized as a breed by the AKC until 1996. The average Havanese has a lifespan of 14-15 years of age, reaching 8-11” in height at 7-13 lbs. once full-grown. Stricker is 8" in height and wts. in at 7lbs. | Posted On Wed 12/05/07 |
